                  Bohio Atabei is a Indigenous Taino women's circle.❤️

Besides welcoming participation from women in any Taino group, Bohio is open to sharing with other Indigenous sisters from relative nations. We have total respect for the elders and women of sister nations. They often are invited  share and the Bohio will always welcome them to our events.

Bohio is a Women's Warrior circle —We have a Jaguars Society. These are our activists and future leaders who dare to step into the trenches of any and all threats to our people. There is a 4-year cycle of teaching for the Jaguars that consists of the first year of initiation and three years of ongoing teachings from the grandmothers. You must be specially selected to become a Jaguar. You must earn your Jaguar teeth.

Bohio is also a circle where we welcome those  Taino women who wish to walk in the spiritual traditions of our ancestors and learn the Taino medicine way. Those teaching are done by the grandmothers and you must request them in the right way. Even with request it is up to individual grandmothers to accept or not.

Bohio is also the sponsor for the Route of the Red Tail Hawk Peace and Dignity Journey (PDJ) Caribbean and East Coast route. We are dedicated to the PDJ mission and are the guardians of the Sacred Red Tail Hawk staff of our people.

We have women at our gatherings from different Yukayekes. The Bohio does not discriminate nor does it interfere in the government/leadership of any Yukayeke or organization as we respect their autonomy.

Our circle is geared towards our women working together in honor of our Ancestors, helping each other in rebuilding our communities, exploring our horizons, and thus safeguarding our future. We celebrate in unity our culture with respect for our Spirit and all of Creation.

We own our power to be Taino women. The future of our people we clearly understand depends on our women for we are a matrilineal society. In our sisterhood we work together and gather with each other with love and respect using the wisdom passed on to us by our elders .

The only thing we insist on is that our Taino spirituality is respected. If your religious convictions are grounded in the organized religions of dominant society—a legacy of the conquest—then perhaps the Bohio is not for you.

However you can attend our moon circles and other events as long as you do not attempt to convert and or preach to us or use our circles to promote non Taino practices and beliefs. Nor will we tolerate any disrespect of the grandmothers circle... The Grandmothers  of this circle are your Tekinas  ( teachers ) 🙏🙏🙏

We welcome our sisters to our circle in the Spirit of our ancestors .
